Last week, Apple officially released watchOS 7 for Apple Watch Series 3 and later, offering a variety of beautiful watch interfaces and some new health monitoring features.

However, the Apple Watch Series 3 has encountered the following error when updating to watchOS 7. On the Apple user support forums, or specifically in the section reserved for Apple Watch Series 3 owners, everyone Expressing disappointment with watch performance after getting to watchOS 7.

One of the common complaints about a 3-year-old Apple Watch after being upgraded to watchOS 7 is the constant reboots, starting to lag, and showing signs of degradation.

"My watch has restarted several times a day since the update, then it asked me to manually enter my password. Even all the activity statistics for the day were completely reset. I haven't have encountered such issues on watchOS 6 and earlier. Hopefully Apple will soon roll out an additional update to address the issue," said an Apple Watch Series 3 owner.

Even many Apple Watch Series 3 users say that watchOS 7 is the "worst" update that Apple has ever released.

"After just one night, my Watch Series 3 automatically updated to watchOS 7. And today it automatically power off at least 3 times, required to enter passcode 4 times, disconnected from iPhone twice and Failed to load data information on the watch face (including weather, activity ring, date, ...). This is the most buggy update I've ever seen, " another comment for good.

In the separate discussion about Apple Watch Series 3 on the MacRumors forum, most users have similar annoying responses. However, they won't be able to do anything until Apple releases a patch.

But despite the quick release of watchOS 7.0.1 to fix the error, users responded that all problems have not been resolved. Worth mentioning, once on watchOS 7, the Apple Watch Series 3 won't be able to downgrade to watchOS 6.

Currently, the Apple Watch Series 3 is still the product Apple is on sale. But with performance starting to falter and hardware having a hard time keeping up with new features on watchOS 7, the Apple Watch Series 3 signals limited compatibility with future software updates.

At this point it is not clear how common the bug is, but given the large number of complaints, it seems Apple has grasped the situation and will soon come up with a remedy.
